Josh Dickerson Havelock NC Death Obituary, Adored’s Son And A Devoted Brother Died

Josh Dickerson Havelock NC Death Obituary, Death: It is with profound sympathy and immense sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Joshua Dare Dickerson, affectionately known to many as Bubba, Chipmunk, Josh, and Joshy D. At the age of 29, Joshua left us, but the impact of his life in such a short time was significant. He was a cherished son, a devoted brother, a beloved uncle, and a treasured friend.

Born on August 18, 1995, Joshua Dare embodied the spirit of his name from the very beginning. The name “Dare” was an old family tradition; however, little did we know he would create a legacy that encouraged everyone around him to embrace life with courage and enthusiasm. A vibrant soul, Joshua kept us on our toes, living each moment fully, and balancing hard work with fervent play and unconditional love. Those fortunate enough to have known him were often left with unforgettable memories of his radiant smile, captivating blue eyes, infectious laughter, and remarkable personality that made everyone feel special.

Although his life was cut tragically short, we find solace in knowing that Joshua lived “Wide Open.” He approached life with relentless enthusiasm, and we believe he would have chosen to depart this world in the same spirited manner. A true lover of the outdoors, whether on sand, surf, amidst brush, or mud, Josh felt most at home “in the wild.” We find comfort in imagining that he would chuckle at this parallel in his passing.

Joshua is survived by a loving family that will cherish the memories they shared: his parents, Ricky and Cindy Dickerson of Havelock; his sisters, Amy Munroe and Heather Bryner; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Tanner, Easton, Caleb, Abygail, Emilie, and Natalie. He is also mourned by his best friends, Kyle White and Tyler Ebron, along with a multitude of friends who were considered family.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the Dickerson residence, located at 7510 US-70 E, New Bern, on Thursday and Friday, April 17-18, from 10 AM to 7 PM. All who knew Joshua are welcome to join. A true celebration of his remarkable life will take place on Saturday, April 19, at 11 AM at Liberty Church in Havelock, followed by an intimate graveside service and visitation.

In honor of Joshua’s spirit, a memorial service is also being planned at The Cottage in Atlantic Beach in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, we encourage everyone to raise a toast of Jameson in tribute to Josh and to embrace their loved ones a little tighter tonight. Live boldly, and dare to live as if you were dying, just as Joshua did.
